Kingsglaive tells the story of King Regis of Lucis and his elite guard, the Kingsglaive, as they defend the magical city of Insomnia against the invading Niflheim Empire. It takes place concurrently with the beginning of the game, providing essential backstory for Prince Noctis and the fall of his kingdom.
