Colonel Miura, impressed, demands to fight Ip Man one-on-one. In the climax, Ip Man defeats Miura in a brutal match using precise, devastating Wing Chun techniques. However, before Miura can be killed, a Japanese general orders Ip Man shot. He is saved by the crowd’s protest and escapes with his family, eventually relocating to Hong Kong, where he opens a school and begins teaching, including a young boy named Bruce Lee.
